1998 blockbuster movie ‘Armageddon’ would have sounded a lot differently without Aerosmith’s power ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”
The song was written for the very famous Celine Dion.
Band Aerosmith’s lead Singer Steven Tyler’s daughter Liv was lead actress in the movie and so the band was set to write a song for the soundtrack. Because the band running low on time and ideas, they went with a song written by Diane Warren for Celine Dion.
“I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” went on to hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts, got nominated for an Oscar, and became one of Aerosmith’s biggest hits.
Written by Diane Warren, the song debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (the first #1 for the band after 28 years together). It is one of three songs performed by the band for the film, the other two being “What Kind of Love Are You On” and “Sweet Emotion”.

Armageddon was made in the year 1998, its an American Science Fiction directed by the very famous and talented Michael Bay and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film was released by Touchstone Pictures. The fil is about the world’s best Drilling Experts found at a Drilling oil Company headed by Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis was taken by NASA and asked for help to drill 800ft surface of a Asteroid rushing towards Earth and fill it with a Nuclear Bomb and that NASA will send them to the Asteroid. They just need to drill the surface.
Bruce Willis convinces the entire team to come along with him and help the world. The movie became the highest grossing film of 1998. There was another movie released same year with the same concept called Deep Impact which did not do as good.
Armageddon as movie is so famous that all the it is shown by NASA in its Management Traninig Program to spot the errors. There are approximately 168 errors that have been found till date.
Steve Tyler the singer of this famous Song “I don’t want to miss a thing” can hold breath underwater for 2 minutes.
He is the lead singer of the band Aerosmith and has been the judge of American Idol as well. Though it does not look like but Steve Tyler used to be an athlete during his school days as he could do 22 backflips on a Trampolin and he was a part of the Junior Olymic Team.
In 1998, Led Zepelin’s Jimmy Page had reached out to Steve Tyler to form a band. They rehearsed as well but Stev’e thought the band would not work so dropped out.
Coming back to the song “i don’t want to miss a thing “. IT was written by Diane Warren. The song was so popular that remained at Number 1 for four weeks on Billboard Hot 100 songs. It peaked to No.1 position in many countries like Australia, Ireland and Norway. It sold over a million copies in the United Kingdom alone.
The Music Video of the song which contained shots of the movie Armageddon became so popular that everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the video. It won the MTV video music award for Best Music Videofor a film and Best Music Video at the Boston Music Awards.
Steve Tyler’s Daughter Liv Tyler played the role of Grace in the movie.
